Why are you interested in sustainable energy solutions? Sustainable energy solutions are essential resolutions for preserving our environment, fighting against global warming, and helping the next generations to deploy clean, cost-effective, and environment-friendly energy. This is an exciting and vital topic to me, and I plan to dedicate my research to developing such resolutions by employing advanced computer technologies.

How are your personal history and vision assets to development and research in energy and sustainability? I have published a number of peer-reviewed publications in the area of cost and energy optimization. As such, I am well familiar with the topic and the importance of sustainable energy resolutions. Besides, my primary research expertise includes artificial intelligence and optimization. My contribution has been to bring advances in computer technology, such as advanced deep learning techniques and nonlinear optimization, into the area of energy and sustainability.

What is your dream job and how will it contribute to a more sustainable energy landscape? I am interested in continuing my research in advanced computing, machine learning, and sustainability in research facilities such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory. My dream job would help me amplify my passion and professional expertise in the area of sustainable energy to help the next generations have clean, sustainable, and environmental-friendly energy solutions at a minimum cost. I believe that a comprehensive sustainable energy solution would leverage advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Who are potential key partners for your research? Dr. Rajiv Ramnath, my supervisor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dr. Ramteen Sioshansi, the head of the EmPOWERment program, are among the people I have identified as key professionals to leverage in my research. I am always interested in collaborating with researchers, students, and professionals, in different fields and backgrounds, to partner in proposing interdisciplinary solutions for sustainable energy. Working with a diverse team focusing on sustainable energy resolutions will result in invaluable research outcomes that would save billions of dollars in energy costs. The EmPOWERment program would give me the chance to share values with professionals in sustainable energy research.
